No, it doesn't connect to the 1MHz bus socket. It connects to a ROM socket
- after all, it's a ROM box.
 
I have one on the bookcase next to me. The connection lead has a 34-way
IDC plug at one end, to go into the box, and a ROM socket header at the
other end to plug into a ROM socket on the BBC motherboard.
 
I've got the tools for putting together a clone of the lead, so I'll have
a go this weekend and see if it's successful.
