Subject: Weird batch of BBC stuff.
Hi all,
I've just obtained a weird batch of stuff from an educational source.
It came to me as a job lot so I'm not sure if it's supposed to operate
together or if all the parts are distinct.
It consists of:
Sony Lasermax LD-1500P Laser disk player X 2
Weird Cumana drive with 5.25" "Verbatim 24Mb Flexible disk" media (might
be magneto optical). [Casing is classic BBC beige)
BBC Micro
BBC Master with instructions taped to the lid for "Interactive video
recorder"
Cumana caddy-loading compact disk drive.
And the following leads:
SCSI to Male 9 PIN D-Type plug (SCSI end fits the SCSI connectors on
Cumana MO and CD-ROM drives).
25 PIN D-Type Male to 9 PIN D-Type female (25 PIN end fits RS-232C port
on back of laserdisk players)
Freaky 20 pin ribbon cable with 2 wires split off in one direction
terminating in weird 7 PIN DIN plug.
I haven't yet had the opportunity of determining the innards of the two
beebs ROMS-wise but the exteriors are entirely standard. I was just
wondering if any of this kit rang any bells with any of you.
Kind regards,
Austin.
