Yes, I found out that by disconnecting the purple -5v, it's only used for
sound and serial.
With -5v disconnected Beeb still doesn't power-up.
See other emails, low voltage output from psu.

The beeb should run without it - it's used for the sound and the serial
port IIRC. Have you tried disconnecting it completely from the
motherboard tho, maybe its odd voltage is upsetting something?
