I don't have any of these problems, you've listed.

1. ADFS crashing - could you give us some more details - try a new ADFS rom.
2. * (asterisk) crashing the emulator - not observed, as * (star) commands
are used extensively throughout the BBC/Master. 
3. Disk images corrupted - not observed any problems here.

Maybe other BeebEm users can comment on the problems you seem to be
experiencing. I don't believe they are common faults with the emulator.
