Subject: Re: writing images to a drive-success!!!

Being the doubting Thomas- I couldn't let it drop, despite the general
consensus that its not possible, so yesterday, I was off sick and had time
to try all sorts of combinations of programs and drives- and Eureka. I am
now exploding image files onto both 40 and 80 track disks on my PC in a
windows DOS box. So far I have tried 15 programs with 100% success!
Including Elite (explodes to 79 of 80 tracks), Philosophers Quest. Arcadians
(40 track), etc etc....all boot up using <SHIFT> <BREAK> on the BBC.

All I have to decide now is how best to use my 10x5.25 disks!! I doubt the
10 year old sales assistant at Office World has even seen a real 'Floppy'
disk before!

I know I can use all these old programs on an emulator- but its more of an
Everest thing:)
