Subject: writing images to a drive-success!!!-How to do it.

BBC:
model B issue 7
Watford DFS 1.44 (havn't tried it on other versions)
twin Akhtar 5.25 drivebays, switchable 40/80 track.

Step one Format the disk on your BBC (either 40 track or 80 track, depending
on the disk)
on my BBC I type:
*enable
*FORM40 0 (or 80 0 depending on the disk and size of program)
(I have Watford Electronics DFS 1.44)
Then, on the PC with the 3.5" drive disconnected and a 5.25" 1.2mb drive
installed (dont forget to change bios settings) run FDC in a dos box (just
double click on FDC.exe) I am running Windows 98se
make sure the .img file is in the same directory as FDC
type in the dos box:
BBC <ENTER>
CYL 80 <ENTER> (or 40 depending on the disk)
DDINHD <ENTER>
CONT <ENTER>
WRITE0 YOURPROGRAM.IMG <ENTER> (of course "YOURPROGRAM" is the name of the
.img that you have placed in the FDC directory.

Thats it, you may get a message saying file is shorter than expected, but
thats ok, it just means the file doesnt take up the whole disk. I just wrote
all my disks that way, and all work by inserting into the BBC drivebay, and
pressing <shift> and <break>
