I started to write a BBC emulator several years back on the UNIX platform,
but I didn't very far. The only stuff I got working before my job and social
life took all my time away, was (a very nice IMHO) graphical debugger which
emulates and debugs 6502 code. At the time Motif became freely available and
so I made good use of that :-) If you are interested to see it check out

I too would prefer OpenGL to Direct-X for BeebEm, and if there is enough
call for it, and if Richard is willing, I could have a go at doing a UNIX/X
port once he sorts out all the problems.
