Subject: Hello, and ARM second processor

Hi all,

I've only just discovered this list, after Googling to try and find out some
information. I recently came upon a whole pile of BBC hardware which was on
its way to landfill, and couldn't bear to see it go, so I rescued as much as
I could. The Beeb was the machine on which I cut my computing teeth, and my
original model B (still working) saw me through at least 10 years of daily
use, so sentiment always gets the better of me where Acorn hardware is
concerned.

In amongst the junk was something which I understand is a bit special: an
Acorn ARM Evaluation System, which got me excited about its historical
interest, especially as many of the projects I get involved with these days
seem to involve ARM processors.

Does anyone have any experience of actually making one of these work? I'm
obviously not expecting it to run RISC OS, but I've seen screenshots of
*HELP output indicating it would do things. Plugged into the Tube of a
machine (a B+, since it happened to be to hand), it seems to make absolutely
no difference - does it require a sideways ROM in the Beeb to work? I wasn't
sure what to expect, since the only comparison I've got is the 32016 second
processor which definitely comes up in 32016 mode and refuses to run 6502
code. I was sort of expecting something similar.

Any clues? And if it seems it's broken, does anyone have a circuit diagram?
Or, failing that, the moon on a stick?
