Just for fun I hooked up a BBC micro with TV, composite video and RGB
outputs to my Sony 37cm flat screen TV and this gave for the display
size:

 235 mm width
 195 mm height

(to nearest mm, values are the same for all three connections)

So, a ratio of 1.205, with error range of about ±0.005.
