Doesn't seem to work here either, with the 65C02 from a
second processor. It does boot but then starts spraying
spurious errors.

Must be some electronic incompatibility, most likely bus
timing or interrupt related. Manufacturer might also be
a factor in this context (this one is a GCE), because I
seem to remember succesfully running a 65C02 in my beeb
for a while, way back before the dawn of time.
