True. Afterwards I spotted a couple of other BBCs with drives and
nothing much else going for almost the same amount though, so maybe it's
not *that* silly (in terms of what those not in the know are prepared to
pay, I suppose)

I did actually pay 50 pounds for a Master 512 + drives a few years ago,
but I think all the other Acorn stuff I have has been the result of
trades for other equipment or saved from the landfill.

I've always passed on 'spare' machines for free to people in the past;
I'm more interested in saving them due to their historical nature than
making any profit (it still annoys me that the local recycler crushes
the damn things, but refuses to let me even buy them off him for scrap
value!)

I was just a little shocked at how much money things were trading hands
for on EBay. I didn't think there was any market for classic hardware,
outside of the usual contenders for high prices (ZX80's, Altairs and the
like)
