Subject: Broken BBC B (w/ Opus DDOS 3.45)

Hi,

I have a typical BBC B fitted with an Opus DDOS 3.45 interface. Up until it
keeled over (circa 96) - IIRC I think it just makes a continuous beep wheb
turned on now, tho I need check - it was in heavy usage but has since been
stuck in a loft awaiting some TLC.

Anyway, with the wonderful world of emulation, I would love to get the beast
up and running again so I can attempt to copy the 2 boxes of 5.25" disks I
have, over to my PC. A few of which are formatted to Opus' version of DFS.

Unfortunately, I'm not much of a hardware guy and as much as I love the ol'
beeb, I haven't got a clue where to start fixing it. Even were I to get
hold of a soldering iron, I'm concerned I'd do more damage than good!

Question, then. Where can I go to get some real support with someone who
knows what they're doing? I have two weeks off from work (this week and
next), the ability to travel from East Anglia and would love to have a shot
at getting it fixed.

Sooo ... what are my options? Do I have any at all?! Is there anyone out
there who might be able to provide any kind of resurrection service?

Peter.
