Apologies for the plug, but I wrote a utility (DD, part of DT2K4) to do
just this a while back. You have to be able to send and receive text
already, as it's just a BASIC program to print uuencoded raw disc
tracks, to whatever destination you have selected (with *FX3). The
output needs to be logged and then unpacked (using WinZip or
uudecode(1).) Uucode is used in case the remote terminal filters
binary characters.
There are a few shortcomings, notably slowness and lack of checksum
protection, but it comes into its own when nothing else will work.
Matt may also find this useful, re: his message of 4/Oct, as only basic
FDC commands are issued. Currently DT2K4 transfers from BBC --> PC
only.
