Should be.  I've not made any MP3s that way, but I have a few that
others have made for another 8-bit micro.  I played them through the
sound system of one of my more modern machines (an SGI, but in
principle no different from a PC+soundcard) and they were fine -- and
this on a micro with a much less forgiving cassette system than a Beeb.
 If MP3s work so well, I'd expect that actual audio straight off a CD
should be fine.
