Subject: The Definitive Beeb?
Morning all,
I have a collection of about two-dozen Bs, B+s, Masters and Compacts.
They've come from the usual variety of sources - Ebay, friends, schools,
etc, so I have a good variety of ROMs and add-ons in them.
I'd like to build myself the "definitive" beeb - one that has the best
of everything, and the most compatible with everything. I'd like to put
the motherboard in a PC tower and then use a spare Viglen keyboard with it.
But what ARE the definitive items? I have a feeling there is no
clear-cut answer, but here goes: As I'll be using it primarily for games
playing (Chuckie Egg, Palace of Magic, Labyrinth) and some
hardware-control stuff, what would people recommend as the most
compatible DFSs, extra ROM cards, and so on? I think I've seen one or
two units with switches hanging out of them which appear to let you
switch between different types of DFS, for example.
In fact: what is the best board to build them on to? A B, B+ or Master?
All the best,
Kris.
