Far as I'm aware it's "SCSI-like" in that it has a well-defined packet
structure. I didn't think it was actually SCSI though. Could be wrong
though, I got as far as writing an IDE driver in assembler once (not for
a BBC!) but I've never looked into driving a CDROM for any reason.
Aside: Is there any kind of patch floating around to allow a SCSI device
with a 512-byte block size to be used with a BBC? I've got more SCSI
drives than I know what to do with :-) (plus SCSI scanners, CDROMs, DAT
drives, and Syquest drives - although for the most part those will use
more than 512 bytes / block)
cheers
