I have found that HD disks will work in DD drives, and can even be used as
DD in an HD drive if the sensing hole is covered with adhesive tape or
similar.
I suspect that long-term reliability would be impaired, but they're fine
as "scratch" disks, and I've had some with Beeb stuff on for well over a
year and they still read error-free.
