For reference my Master has been working fine for about 5 years with a Sony
3.5" drive from CPC (www.cpc.co.uk). Model MPF920E, though I doubt that's
listed in the catalogue, cost about £8. I think I had to change the drive
select link over to make it appear as "Drive 0/2" to the beeb, rather than
"Drive 1/3".

Before that I used a Panasonic drive but that failed when dropped down a
staircase at University,
