That's a shame. Here's a post of comp.sys.acorn.misc which may interest
you though:

Subject: Broken beebs and masters wanted

Hi folks.
I'm looking for one or two broken or not-too-well BBC Bs, Masters and Master
Compacts, or any that are otherwise heading for the skip. I want to try out
a casing/electrics idea and it would be a shame to spoil fully working
machines if it doesn't come off. So I'm looking for a few dying examples
whose bodies could be donated to 'science', as it were. I'll also need a
decent sample or two in the end as well for the finished item once I'm
through 'prototyping', so working machines wouldn't be rejected either. If
anyone has anything suitable and they're not too far from N W London/M25,
could they email on:

beebs at anf dot nildram dot co dot uk

Might be able to pick up from farther afield depending on other trips coming
up.

Cheers,
-Neil F.
<end>

Hope this is of some use, and that he doesn't skip them if he can't do
what he wants!

Andrew
