Most curious ... thanks for that John, the behaviour under the emulators
I've tried is clearly variable and none of them appears to match an actual
beeb - which is, of course, the benchmark.

I shall make a note to self ...

I'm also quite happy that my post prompted the contributions from Richard
and David - I'm esp. keen to see spectrum colours on the beeb!  :D
