Subject: ST506 Discs

I am having a problem trying to format an ST506 disc using "Superform". 
It is an NEC D3142 and I
am using it with Adaptec ACB4000 controller and Acorn host adapter.  All
that happens is a
continuous formatting loop for about 40 minutes which finally ends with "Format
Error 10".  It's
not the controller or the host adapter as I have successfully formatted a
number of other drives
including a Miniscribe MS8425.  Does anybody know the cure?
