I think the upper surface of the Master welcome disc is 40 track and the
underside is 80 track
(because many 40T drives are single sided) so when you run "Welcome80" it
re-writes the catalogue
to point to all the files on the underside of the disc.
It can't be copied by direct disc to disc backup for this reason; you have
to do a logical copy.

IIRC, the Master Welcome disc is a weird dual 40/80 track format so that
it'll work in both 40t and 80t drives. I'm not sure if this is having
an effect on your attempts to recreate the image.
