Subject: Re: BASIC IV: Coded Line Number

Hi All

Does anyone know how the three byte 'coded line
number' is calculated when using BASIC IV GOTO/ GOSUB
statements??

e.g. when GOTO 60 is investigated using a Memory Dump
Utility, it shows:

E5--------------20----------8D-----------54 7C 40

(GOTO token) (Space) (Line No. token) (Coded line
No.)

Cheers

Pete
How does the three hex values '54 7C 40' represent '60'??
