How about an "Alright my lover!"?
This will be lost on many people on this list, who don't come from the
West
Country like me!
Regards
Andrew
(PS Dave Prowse the Actor is from Bristol like me, unfortunately we will
never here his dialogue as Darth Vader!)

List people,
Give you micro the power of speech, in the form of a Kenneth Kendall
speech
upgrade kit.
Rarer than hen's teeth I've been trying to get hold of a spare TMS6100
(the
weird custom phrase ROM) for years now, and then I thought "why not just
design a new one from scratch?".
So I did.
The result is a tiny emulator board, the same size as the original
TMS6100,
plus of course the speech processor itself from Texas Instruments. The
phrase ROM is loaded with the original voice of Kenneth Kendall and can
be
immediately accessed from BASIC using the SOUND command.
However as it uses modern components (there are some hidden on the back
which can't be seen from the photo) I've also been able to include the
ability to reprogram the PHROM in circuit using the BASIC program
supplied.
This allows you either to create your own customised PHROMs or compile
images of frequently used programs which can then be accessed using the
built in ROM filing system.
For full details, and links to the Acorn user guides for the original
system
go to
http://www.sprow.co.uk/bbc/speechupgrade.htm
which includes examples.
And whoever is first to send me an PHROM image with the voice of Darth
Vader
saying "It is your destiny" will get their money refunded!
Have fun,
Sprow.
