Subject: Re: now Buying Abroad was current situation

Again I replied prior to all the other replies coming in.
I agree that the list is not the place for most of this but I don't think it
harms in setting out what can and cannot be done. It's valuable to all of us
to be aware of making foreign transactions and the problems that surround
them.
I am sure that there will be more of us buying odd bits (often low-priced)
from abroad and it's good to know that it will always be expensive (thanks
to the bank charges) if we don't have an electronic means of paying. Imagine
buying, say, a small electrical part worth a few pence and being charged £15
to pay for it!
At least this thread has highlighted it.
I think we should all run out and register with PayPal right away!
