Subject: Econet Real Time Clock

Can anyone tell me if the Econet real-time clock module was originally
required for the Level 3 FileServer to run?

We had one of these attached to a Master 128 running Level 3 at School
but it would seem to be a bit pointless since the M128 already has a
built-in clock.

I had it on good authority that the module was like an early "dongle", ie.
if it wasn't detected, Level 3 wouldn't run.

However the version of Level 3 I am running works without the module being
attached, although it maybe a modified version as it has the date-fix applied.
