Subject: Anyone interested in a real time clock for BBCB/B+?

Hi all,
Following the success of the speech upgrade module
 http://www.sprow.co.uk/bbc/speechupgrade.htm
and the recent talks about Econet fileserver clocks on the user port, I
thought I'd dust off a design I did a while ago for a real time clock module
for the BBC B/B+/Compact (Electron too if you have spare ROM sockets) and
gauge opinion as to whether to do anything about it.

Basic spec is
 * Y2K compliant real time clock chip (as used on MiniB)
 * 8k of flash memory, or maybe EPROM
 * Squeezed onto a little carrier PCB the same size as a ROM
 * No soldering or flying leads required for installation
 * Supporting software to add *TIME/*CONFIGURE/OSWord 14 and 15
 * Optional interception of BRKV to add TIME$ keyword to BASIC II
 * Probable cost about £25 each

So I'll pass the microphone to anyone else now. Basically
 - if you just want to express interest in buying one please email me
privately rather than cluttering up the archive
 - if you want to discuss the spec we should do that on the list to get
   everyone else's opinion

This is one of those projects where nobody's ever asked me for one so I
can't judge in advance whether I'm going to lose £100's and weeks of spare
time working on it or not!

Cheers,
Sprow.
