Well, alas, all this work re formatting may all be for naught.
I tried again this morning (same result), cleaned the head in the disk drive
(no change), switched off and went out.
When I switched on the Beeb tonight, I got just a long continuous tone
instead of the beep and no display on the monitor. (Disconnected everything
from it - even the monitor and no change - just a long steady beep)..
Don't know what's gone wrong but I can no longer get the BBC Micro to work.
I take it this means that "something" inside has blown?
