I'd though about something on those lines to after seeing my Econet bridge
in the basement last week. It would certainly be a very elegant solution, I
just thought there would be a significant amount of software overhead on
that, and seems slightly more complicated regarding network protocolls.

:-) It is about time that we finally got some sort of econet -> PC/Ethernet
interface sorted out.
