Indeed, it was certainly my intention to publish all the design files.
I was also planning to make up a small batch of units, either fully
assembled or in kit form (mostly because it costs about the same to make
ten PCBs as it does to make one) for the benefit of anybody who didn't
want to do that themselves.

Including a clock on the board sounds like a good idea, and should be
easy enough to arrange.  Anybody who doesn't want that can just
depopulate the components.
