Econet is byte-orientated. The ALDC inserts and removes bits at
the physical layer to mark the start and end of packets and line
idles, but that would be transparent looking at the Econet
hardware from the computer side.
 
Sheesh. Two massive threads on my two areas of expertese, and I
can't manage to even keep up with one of them!
