Well, well, well! Would you believe it was the drive after all!!
I am most surprised because it is the drive I always use with the
Domesday Machine when that is up and running and I have never had
any problems with it. Clearly I hadn't used it with ADFS before. It
must be a very low density drive which can't cope with ADFS but works
with DFS.
I changed the drive and it even works with DFS 2.0j.
The reason I was trying ADFS in the B+ was because I wanted to have
a go at running all my favourite BBC games which don't work on the
Master. I have them on an ADFS compilation disc and wanted to see
how they coped with the B+.
In the end it was a pointless exercise because all the games crashed
as soon as they loaded, no doubt due to the increase in PAGE caused
by having ADFS in there!
However I did manage to find my DFS disc with some of the games on
and I was quite surprised to find that most of them didn't work on the
B+, ie. Banjax, Jetpac, Boffin, Zalaga. Repton 2 ran for a bit but then
seemed to go to "Bad program" every time the monster came out of the
egg!
Best wishes,
Ian

My B+ works fine with DFS 2.26 and ADFS 1.30.
