Presumably a homebrew very-low-power transmitter would be possible 
though, with a range of just a few metres. Hook it up to a video 
recorder say to provide a teletext source and then receive via a 
teletext adapter in the normal way.

Not exactly legal of course, but maybe possible. (I know nothing about 
transmission of TV signals; I just assume it can be done)

It's certainly one of the things we'd like to demo at the museum (along 
with satellite data reception - most of the analogue satellites are 
reaching end of life too, so similar issues there)
