Subject: Re: Teletext

Just use any RF modulator such as found in, say, a bbc micro, to create the
RF the teletext adapter needs..

I did at one point [*] try to use a beeb to generate teletext signals; I
shifted the screen start up into the right region, so could display
teletext signals across the right scan lines. I never got further than
getting the TV to acknowledge that something was there, as the only
teletext tv I had access to at the time was at the other end of the flat,
and it was a pain running backwards and forwards..

My TiVo generates teletext pages, albeit only no. 888 for the subtitles. I
imagine that there is more generic software out there that could be used
for demonstrations, etc. I would also expect some of the actual
commercial hardware currently in use by the many broadcasters to filter
it's way down to hobbiests once it becomes redundant...
