You can make a pack up with a crimp tool, no soldering required! Circuit

That's not the case. The SCROLL/NOSCROLL option just affects the emulation
of the (arguably incorrect) BBC B's pending scroll logic. Specifically
whether or not to hang at the bottom rightmost character waiting for shift
or whether to issue a newline and wait in the bottom leftmost corner of the
screen,
