I have a DD 3.5" floppy drive on the Beeb. Why...? Because it pre-dates HD, is a "Y-E Data 1MB 3.5" drive", has no switch to detect the HD hole, and reads/writes double-density [and single] only. The PC also offers me a choice of 3.5" 1.44MB and 3.5" 720kB floppy drives in the BIOS...
