Subject: Dead Master
Hello Group,
I cannot get my Master to boot :-(
I fitted a GoMMC this morning, (which I can't get to work) and I
noticed that the inside is a bit tatty. The battery case contains 2
Duracell AA batteries and is held in place with insulation tape, and
the speaker is also held in place with insulation tape. One of the
battery leads snapped off while I was moving it.
Now when I turn the machine on I get a beep but the top lines says
Acorn ADFS with a blinking cursor underneath (not a proper prompt)
and I can't type anything in. There is some text which appears
further down as it boots but it flashes on and off and I can't read
it.
Has the lost battery caused lost CMOS settings which may prevent it
booting? If so is there some sort of over-ride boot sequence that
will re-set it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated, I'm looking at a pretty dead
machine at the moment :-(
