Is the metal rod connected to the keyboard on either side by a bent bit that
fits under a plastic bit?
If so, I think the metal bar should be located in a groove on the actual
space bar (ie you have pulled it off). That metal bar, I think, should have
come away with the key when you removed it by un-locating the bar from
beneath the plastic retainers (ie you have bust it).
Maybe not but I have a PC keyboard on a shelf near me which I did that to
and managed to break the locating lugs on the key.
I can't get it back either.
I bought a new keyboard but I daresay an old keyboard will provide a
suitable-sized alternative.
Please let us know if there is a way to fix it, I liked my keyboard.
