Actually my earlier message reminded me to have another go
with the old Rodime RO352 (2.5A at 12V, 0.6A at 5V) which had thus
far refused to format, always giving Error 24 in format on Superform
when it does the first re-format. However I modified SuperForm to
take out the loop so it only does one format and then goes onto to
write the map & root directory so now it works! There's about 80
errors in the defect list but at least it's usable!
It was running from the Master PSU probably for about 2 hours
without any problems.
I still can't get the NEC D3142 to format. It just formats FOREVER,
never getting out of the first attempt.
Best wishes,
Ian

Wow - I'm really surprised you got away with that. Even the original IBM
PC used to shut down when loaded up with a hard disk (that PSU was rated
at 63W though IIRC)
I suppose I'd be more concerned about PSU overheating that anything as
there's no fan and it's tucked away in the corner of the case with a lot
of plastic around it. But if it works.... :)
cheers
