We're aiming for somewhere around 12,000sqft - 10,000 for exhibition 
space / public archives, and 2000 as workshop / stores. (ideally already 
with 3-phase power, we're rather over the limit of what we can do with 
domestic mains! :)

Obviously a lot of the larger old rack-based machines don't like sitting 
on top floors - they tend to work their way back onto the ground floor 
rather quickly :)

To a property developer in the UK that much space has significant value 
though, plus of course things like warehouse rentals make it difficult 
to add necessary facilities, disabled access etc.
