Subject: RF Modulator Interference

Hi,
I have been trying to trace a problem with my friends model B. The RF
output is strong and clear, but when any sound is playing, even the bootup
beep, there is some interference, horizontal lines across the screen. The
same thing happens when the floppy disk is accessed; interference is worse
when the floppy drive is access and the picture jumps with the tv losing th
e
signal breifly. When the disk stops spining, the tv output is strong again.
I have seen similar problem, but to much lesser degree on a master.
I have pressed down on the modulator, and tried adjusting the trim pot, bu
t
this has had no effect. Does anyone have any ideas what is causing the
interference, seem to be power related. The machine does have a solidisk
sideways ram board that sits beside the modultator.
 Regards,
Paul
