Subject: CUBE inventory
I'm finally back in the UK and picked up the pile of CUBE stuff I mentioned
the other week on this list...
Inventory follows (so far; I believe this is just what the original owner
could lay his hands on prior to moving house, so he's probably uncovered more):
main:
2 x CUBE chassis assemblies with PSU and 4-slot backplanes.
CUBE Forth Manual (unfortunately in a CUBE Technical Manual binder - if the
contents matched the cover I'd find it a far more useful doc!)
CUBE cards with backplane connection:
Control FORTH ROM
Control FORTH floppy
Bus Extender
5 x 6502 CPU cards
CUMEM memory (static) card
2 x CU-GRAPH video cards (actually a dual board)
Teletext video board
CUBIT 6809 CPU board
CUBAN analogue card
CUBAN-12 analogue card
CUBIO general IO board (4 x 6522 ICs on board)
2 x CU-DOUBLE STORE floppy disk boards
Laboratory Interface card
7 x 8088 CPU cards
2 x "BBEB-EX" boards (looks like a backplane on an extension cable)
4 x CUMEM SELECTA boards (more static memory)
Unknown board #1: TSC7109 40-pin IC as the main chip, with DB25 male connector
on edge of board.
Unknown board #2: 8 x 2114 static RAM chips, 2 x LEDs, toggle switch and
trailing 24-way cable designed to plug into an IC socket.
Unknown board #3: 4 x 6-pin DIN connectors on edge, 6522 IC, 4 x 6551 IC's
(possibly multi-port serial?)
Random stuff:
Several blank unassembled PCBs for above cards.
2 x 4-slot backplanes (look to have been cut from somewhere else - there's no
mounting holes or power inputs)
2-slot backplane (bodged)
3-slot backplane (bodged)
Small board with 2 x 40-way IDC sockets and single trailing 40-way cable
terminated in IDC plug. Various buffers on board, momentary switch, 2-way
latching switch. Multiplexer for *something* by the looks of it.
Prototype (by the looks of it) for previous board.
Small board with 6522 IC, 40-way cable + plug on one side, 26-wa cable + plug
on the other.
Relay board with a 40-pin D8748 IC on board and CUBE backplane type connector
(it's bigger than the normal CUBE card size though and wouldn't fit in a CUBE
chassis)
Some of this stuff is pretty ropey; some boards are marked as bad. Others have
obviously been scavenged for useful RAM or CPU chips over the years...
Flex OS media + manual does exist at the house of the guy who kindly picked
all this up whilst I was away, but we're not certain whether it's for the CUBE
6809 board or the Acorn 6809 (or if they're in fact identical boards anyway).
I think he wants to keep it if it's for the Acorn flavour.... (either way I
can grab a copy sometime and try to make the CUBIT do something)
As I say, there may be more to come!
cheers
Jules
