It is possible to sell those drives for £70 to those who;

a) can't be bothered to look
b) don't know what to look for
c) think buying from a retailer gives a degree of trust/reliability
d) don't think these can be found easily, e.g. school junk cupboard.
e) if they're 70 quid then they must be rare and this must be a good
price
f) hey, they cost over 200 quid when they were new (24 years ago...)

etc. etc.

eBay is a fun place to see this in action...
