Subject: M-UTS
Has anyone got a copy of the HCCS M-UTS ROM? It was the first
commercial software I wrote and I'd quite like to track down a copy
of it.
On a related note I've been thinking about how to proceed with my
oral history of the Beeb [1] and I decided I should do some
recreational Beeb programming to refresh my memory about how
everything works. So I've been writing M-UTS II because I thought
it'd be fun to revisit something I did so long ago. It'll currently
disassemble and do hex (and ascii) dumps. When I'm done I'm going to
release it under the GPL - just because it seems fitting to take the
first thing I did and free it and because I'm not aware of any other
Beeb S/W that's GPL'd :)
Interestingly I didn't have any bother getting back into the Beeb
programming groove. I've found that I'm working more quickly than I
did back in the day - probably because I'm using a better editor (I'm
cross assembling on my Mac and testing under BeebEm3) and the
assemble / test cycle is quicker. 6502 code is as much fun as it ever
was :)
