This won't be a problem with the DFS or interface installation.
I bet you have an 80-track drive and some 40-track disks, or
vice-versa. Either combination will give you exactly that effect --
able to read track zero but no other.
If you have an 80-track drive, it may be possible to make it switchable
40/80 track. If it doesn't have a built-in capability to do that, I
used to sell a little circuit board to do it, and I still have fifty or
so left, though you'd need to find some of the components.
