I have to agree that irritates me no end. Some useless idiot, probably a
controller at the BBC has no idea what they are talking about but the
presenters are told to say it. Occasionally you get a presenter who knows
what they are about and will say "Go to" or "Visit our website". I think the
best one is the most simple one "Further information is available on our web
site at bbc.co.uk/blahblah"

Perhaps time to email the BBC and tell them how stupid they look.
