Subject: On/off Switcihes for IDE drives ?

Is there a software command(s) that can be used to
power on/off the IDE drives, (8 bit interface)?

It is nice to settle down to the quiet of the GoMMC once
I have done all the work that I need to and can turn off the
Cumana floppies on my bridged plinth and enjoy the quiet,
without the hum of their PSU. I am reluctant, however, to
yank the plug from under the Master for the IDE drive when
I have finished working with that.

The GoMMC has, for me personally, made a *quiet* difference
with using the Master and I find it quite a blessing.

Now, if it's not OK to, say, do a *CO. floppy + hard reset and
pull the power plug from under the Master, and failing software
control, can someone suggest which wires it would be sufficient
to hook-up to a simple on/off switch, say, stuck onto the IDE
housing unit that I bought several months back from Jonathan.
I cannot see it doing much good to those plugs.

Any other ideas that can be shared once "*Configure hard" is no
longer required ?

Best wishes, Raf
