Thanks guys,
I was wondering whether I was being a bit extravagant but as it's also go
t
the double drives (all mine have packed up) so it's not so bad.
I've only once laid my hands on another B+ 128k, but I didn't realise the
rarity of them. Which begs the question, just how many B+ machines were
actually sold? Did they sell well?
I've read stories that sales of the normal Model B rose considerably befo
re
they were replaced, but I've no idea how the 64k or 128k faired. The latt
er
seems a bit of an obscure stop-gap prior to the Master series.
This B+ 128k isn't very well in that in produces a continuous tone. Any
ideas how to cure it? Keyboard connector? Loose ROM?
Aaron

Although it is a 128K B+, which we established aren't that common (unlike
64K
models).
BBC Bs and Masters are just there for the taking still. 64K B+ models do
show
up from time to time (I've stumbled across a handful in the last few year
s).
But I've only ever seen one 128K B+, and that was the one I mentioned tha
t
was
given to the museum a couple of weeks ago.
I'm sure there's a healthy market amongst people who go after the rarer
stuff
for things like this particular machine.
Remember that CJE charge over a 100 pounds for a used dual floppy drive..
.
:-)
I'm not sure what I'd pay for a 128K B+ if I really wanted one. Given the
chance of actually finding one, 45 probably isn't too bad.
cheers
