Those prism 2000's were terrible... I was at Micronet when we were
dishing them out. Working in THD (Technical Help Dept) one of my
tasks was testing those that came back as faulty... and there were
LOTS of them did so...

I /think/ we'd bought the entire stock from Prism when they went
bust.. I went to help clear out a storage warehouse somewhere near
the docks where everything was palletted up, at one point. Lots of
interesting stuff; not just the various modems, from acoustic
couplers upwards, but ROMEX cartridges (anybody remember them?)
little robot kits, and all sorts of other goodies. The modems all
ended up at Herbal Hill for sending out - most of the rest of it
ended up stored in the basements of the Prestel building, (Telephone
House in Temple - and they were a place I wanted to wander about in,
but couldn't - security!). Prestel eventually moved out from there,
but I wonder if BT still own it, and all the odd stuff is still
lurking about under their feet...
