I though RS sold all the bits for Vero cases (as used on the System machines,
or RM 380Z crates etc.)
I don't think I'd fancy making a luggable machine out of pure metal though;
plastic skins would make far more sense.

Lots of early luggables didn't even bother with that - just a honking great
parallel cable between keyboard and main unit.

I *think* I asked on here before, but maybe not... anyone ever worked out what
beeb power consumption would be if parts were replaced with low-power
equivalents where possible?
I suppose RAM is one of the biggest current draws and there's not much you can
do about that whilst keeping the pinouts the same...
Related question: how many potatoes would be needed to run a mini-B? (possible
fun museum display!)
